There are some sites that can help you on your journeys. See "help speedwalk" and it will give you lists of websites which you can visit. "help contsw" will give you the list of speedwalks that are currently being used after the Continents change. Despite the help file name saying speedwalks these sites offer various different pieces of information like leveling guides, equipment guides and other Aardwolf information that you may find interesting. Information on clans is relatively easy to find as well.
Clans play a big role in Aardwolf. To see a list of all the clans type "clist", or to see a more detailed version of a clan see "help clan". Talking to various clan members is great to get the feel of how different clan members enjoy various different clans.
Maps allow you to navigate the mud without getting hopelessly lost. Some areas are huge and require time and effort to finish quests from. Maps are not illegal and see "help map" for further information. With the Continents change MCCP users may now also use "bigmap" to see their location on the continent itself. Exploring is a good way to improve how you play and makes global quests and general quests easier.
As a new player you may want to personalize your prompt. See "help prompt" for details. Your prompt is what shows you your health/mana/moves ect. You can program this to have numerous different pieces of information in them. Some sites offer custom made prompts you may be able to find on different sites as well. After you have created a prompt to your liking see "help battleprompt". This will allow you to further personalize your prompt and add different things to it once again. Battleprompt allows you to see the mob you are fighting' life %, so you see how much longer it will take to kill it.
Marriage is an aspect of Aardwolf that many people choose to wait for but many feel they need to rush into. It's better to wait for marriage and find someone reliable and someone you trust enough to be married to and to share equipment and knowledge with. Marriage is taken seriously and to learn more see "help marriage".
Generally there is a help file for nearly any questions you may have. Find a key word and try help before it. It never hurts to check, worst come to worst you need to ask on a channel but it is nice to be able to find the information on your own, it is the first steps of Aardwolf Independence. :-)
Plan before you remort. A common mistake is to not gain enough quest points to remort. You need a minimum of 800 quest points and 500,000 gold to remort. (You must first 'superhero' before remorting) See "help superhero" and "help remort".
Get MCCP! MCCP not only saves Aardwolf bandwidth but also give you an extra 2 quest points per quest! If you are using Zmud MCCP is built in and can be turned on. See "help mccp" for full details.
The best readily available equipment comes from clan shops. Clan equipment always has good stats but can get costly as you level. If you don't have a whole lot of money you can search for good equipment carried by mobs on several websites. See "help www".
There are many sites such as this one which tries to make life easier for new and old players. To get a list of helpful sites try "help www" or try out clan websites (which can be found in "claninfo <clan>"). Take the time to look and examin some of those sites on your freetime, knowledge often makes you feel better about yourself and being able to do things on your own is an accomplishment.
