Quests

Quests play an important role in Aardwolf. Quests enable you to equip yourself with some of the nicest equipment in the game. Weapons are also available. Listing of the quest equipment are available at questor: simply type "quest list" at Questor to see a list and the price of either quest weapons or quest equipment. Its strongly recommended to quest as frequently as possible. Be sure to read "help quest" and for the item stats, "help aarditems". You may at any time do "quest appraise axe" to see what stats you will be getting if you were to purchase a quest item at that instant. (Replace "axe" with the keyword of the item you wish to check.)

When you "quest request" at Questor, you will receive the name of a mob, the room it is located in and the area where it can be found. You can at any time hit "quest info" to get a reminder of who or what it is that you are hunting. It would be a good idea to visit a website containing maps of the areas, so you can plan your trip and see where it is you need to go to get to your questmob, commonly referred to as a qmob. "claninfo light" and "claninfo emerald". Go to their web pages and check out the map of the area you need to go to, it will make things a lot easier for you. Eventually you will get to know the areas very well and will be able to quest without consulting maps, but in the meantime, use the resource :-)

For you to be able to remort and become a multi-class player, you have to have an absolute minimum of 800qp and 500,000 gold. You will need this by the time you reach level 200. If you do not have the qp and gold at this time, it is not a problem. You can simply do quests at that level and also kill a lot of high-cash yielding mobs. The only catch is, quests are very hard at high levels. It is far easier to do quests while at a low level and save up the qp for when you will need it later.

Campaigns

Campaigns, or CP's, for short, are great leveling tools. Taking and completing a campaign will introduce you to several areas of your level, for you to see where you can get decent xp and gold, or just to force you to explore a little. A campaign is a number of mobs (around 10-15) with gold and qp as a reward. Sometimes you may receive pracs, trains or a trivia point as cp reward. This will however be stated beforehand, unlike quests. So how does it work? Simple. Find Commander Barcett and "cp request". For more clues on where to find him, read "help campaign". The commands you need to remember to use are "cp info" and "cp check". "cp info" gives you the full story of your current campaign: time left, reward, level taken, all the targets, etc. "cp check" shows you which mobs you still have to kill to complete the campaign. Thus, as you kill campaign mobs, the list shown by "cp check" will get smaller.

So what is this 'hunt trick' everybody keeps talking about concerning campaigns? Here it is:

Campaign targets cannot be hunted. Everybody has the ability to 'hunt', but only people with the skill will get a proper direction from it. Thus, everybody can try to hunt the campaign mobs. Now, you have to understand the concept that there are multiple mobs with the same name in an area, and they are each referred to by putting a number and a period in front of the name. Here is an example:

"hunt child"

A child is north from here.

"where child"

a child The Marklov Hovel

"hunt 2.child"

You seem unable to hunt that target for some reason.

"where 2.child"

a child The Marklov Hovel

So then I went to the room 'The Marklov Hotel' and did "kill 2.child", which turned out to be my correct target. Do note that this would have worked even better if the second hunt gave a different room name, then I would have known for certain that the 'child' in that room was my target.

There will be some mobs that will not show when you type 'where' for them. That would be because they are hidden. Unfortunately, there is no way around this problem. If you cannot hunt the mob and also not 'where' them, then your only remaining option is exploring the area and finding the mob yourself.
